Washington, DC’s Wale signed to Interscope
Wale, The G Manifesto’s Best Break out Hip-Hop Artist of 2007, has signed a joint venture deal with Mark Ronson’s Allido imprint and Interscope Records.
Mark Ronson will be executive producer of the untitled forthcoming album and Pharrell, Just Blaze, Kanye West, Justice, DJ Toomp and 9th Wonder are all rumored to weigh in on the production tip. (pretty hard hitting).

I enjoy Wale, even though I usually do not promote advertisers (Nike boots) – which is a catchy song I don’t think he even got paid for before it got on itunes. G do you think that the wave of the future will be artist singing in the hope of attaining an advertising spot? That would be sad for art.

MUD,
Great question.
The great battle; art vs commerce. But does life imitate art or does art imitate life?
