10 Great Things About America

Everyone knows I am one of America’s harshest critics.

However, there are some great things about America that I don’t think it gets enough credit for:

1. 7-11’s. My hatred of corporate America is well documented. However, the convenience of 7-11 can’t be beat. They are on every corner in Southern California. You can spend a half an hour walking around other countries looking for a pack of smokes or a Coke. And don’t get me started on the operating hours of those establishments in other countries.

2. ATM’s. A great thing about America is our banks have multiple ATM’s in a bank, so you can shoot in and out real fast. And people know how to use them quickly. In other countries, you have some motherf*cker, f*cking around with his transaction for 20 minutes. I mean, there are only two things you can do at an ATM; put money in, or take money out. And if you do both, it takes two minutes. In other countries you have guys typing in numbers forever, you would think he is writing a book report or something.

3. Friends. Friends are hard to make in any country. But even harder in foreign countries. Sure I have made some, but it is fewer and further between than in America.

4. The Green Back. Our money is probably the best of anywhere in the world. I am not talking about the value either, getting all Peter Schiff style on you. I am talking about durability, and the fact that it is all the same size. And doesn’t have any gay colors on it. Hell, even Canadian money rips too easily. I probably have 3k worth of ripped in half Canadian dollars in my possession.

5. Variety of girls. When you go to the right places in America ie LA, SD, SF, LV, MIA, NYC etc, America can’t be beat as far as variety of girl you can swoop. In Miami, you can swoop girls from 10 different countries in a month. Try that trick in Bogota. Or Buenos Aires.

6. Openness of people. People are more open to being swooped in America than other countries. In Spain, for instance, people are extremely closed off. People party with their friends and in groups in other countries. In America, we party to meet people.

7. Drugs. We probably have the best selection of Drugs of any country. And real easy to get. Holland is good too though.

8. Booze. Ever try to get a Vodka Soda in Spain? Good luck. Even though bartenders suck in America, the are even worse in other countries. And crazy slow.

9. Setup of Bars and Clubs. The set up of American bars and clubs is conducive to meeting people. (Although it is getting worse). In other countries, it is all about group setting.

10. Personal Space. In America, we understand personal space. Other countries, not so much. Even during the day, fools in other countries get a little too close. I have probably pushed people at night in eight different countries for invading my personal space.

11. Girls. As much as we all hate American girls, they are the easiest on the planet. And I love them for that. And I try to show my appreciation by swooping them.

Why You Should Buy a Custom Suit

» 08 March 2012 » In Dope, Luxury, Style » 10 Comments

Why You Should Buy a Custom Suit

One of the most common questions I get when I am stopped on the Streets, Los Calles, and Las Avenidas of the world is: “Why should I buy a Custom Suit?”

Well, beyond the obvious, there are two main reasons:

Preserving an Artform

I have been known to a be a patron of the Arts (so to speak), and with Custom Suits, its no different.

In today’s age, the Tailor is an Endangered Species. These cats are old. And sadly, dying off. (Kind of like what Jim Rogers says about farmers and one of the reasons why the Agriculture sector is a solid long term play for your Bankroll).

I personally, don’t want to see that happen.

Help America

America is in pretty bad shape. One of many reasons we are in this position is because we don’t make anything anymore.

Last year, I moved over to an American Tailor. (Well, I am kind of lying, I still go to Savile Row every year to pick up some Custom Suits). My tailor is a legend in The Game and has made suits for Cary Grant and Frank Sinatra (and I won’t say any more because I don’t want to give away who he is.)

He charges a grip, but I would gladly pay double knowing how well they work. Hell, triple.

Bottom line, which would you rather wear?

A Custom Suit, made in The USA?

Or a glittery T-shirt and tight jeans made in China?

(If you answered the latter, go kill yourself. Or better yet, give me your address.)

Wack Style: Guys And Little Dogs

Wack Style: Guys And Little Dogs

“That fake Al Capone sh*t we don’t condone. I am about to turn this whole Game into a funeral home”. – Keith Murray

We already know that America is on a heavy downslide.

It always amazes me when I get back to The States from my travels around the world is how many guys in America are walking little dogs.

It’s pathetic, from a Style standpoint, and annoying because, I am trying to get my roadwork in and get to my Boxing Gym. The little dogs are never trained and clog up the sidewalk.

If you think about it (which I try not to), it is either guys actually wanting little dogs as pets, or guys walking the little dogs of their girlfriends as a slave favor.

Both options are despicable.

Keep in mind, I don’t really condone the phoney goateed, sleeve tatted steez cat, thinking he is causing a crime wave with his pitbull either.

But honestly, I feel less nauseous after drinking 20 Goose and sodas and eating 3 quesadillas with extra guac than I do after seeing a guy walking a little dog.

Someone has to put a stop to this.

I am kind of surprised that The Chinese or The Russians don’t just make a move on US now while we are at our weakest.

And I always thought that girls with little dogs was a big sign that the Apocalypse was coming.

Floyd Mayweather Jr., Mark Cuban and Michael Mason on Patriotism

Floyd Mayweather Jr., Mark Cuban and Michael Mason on Patriotism

Best quote by Floyd Mayweather Jr. during Floyd Mayweather VS Victor Ortiz Post Fight Interview:

(Start watching at 17:00)

“It’s so crazy. I am in America. The country that I represent, the Red, White and Blue.

I make money in America.

I feed the American citizens, I feed the people that are less fortunate in America.

Even when I make it rain, I am still throwing money to Americans!.”

The Most Patriotic Thing You Can Do by Mark Cuban

Bust your ass and get rich.

Make a boatload of money. Pay your taxes. Lots of taxes. Hire people. Train people. Pay people. Spend money on rent, equipment, services. Pay more taxes.

When you make a shitload of money. Do something positive with it. If you are smart enough to make it, you will be smart enough to know where to put it to work.

I don’t care what anyone says. Being rich is a good thing. Not just in the obvious sense of benefiting you and your family, but in the broader sense. Profits are not a zero sum game. The more you make the more of a financial impact you can have.

I’m not against government involvement in times of need. I am for recognizing that big public companies will continue to cut jobs in an effort to prop up stock prices, which in turn stimulates the need for more government involvement. Every cut job by the big companies extracts a cost on the American people in one way or another.

Entrepreneurs are needed to create and grow companies to absorb those people in new jobs. If entrepreneurs don’t create those jobs, the government ends up having to spend more money to help them one way or another.

So be Patriotic. Go out there and get rich. Get so obnoxiously rich that when that tax bill comes , your first thought will be to choke on how big a check you have to write. Your 2nd thought will be “what a great problem to have”, and your 3rd should be a recognition that in paying your taxes you are helping to support millions of Americans that are not as fortunate as you.

Continue

And his response to his article:

MARK CUBAN: “Any Budget Plan That Is Longer Than The Current President’s Term Is A Crock Of ****”

These are not meant to be researched items. These are “streams of consciousness” from the conversation yesterday’s post created.

First some housekeeping. I DO NOT like paying taxes. In fact I hate to throw good money after bad and the way our federal government spends money is rarely good. HOWEVER, I think that this country has created unique opportunities for entrepreneurs and paying taxes is a small price to pay. In fact, as I wrote yesterday, I’m proud to pay taxes on the rewards I have EARNED through my efforts in the business world. Taxes are not a bad thing, mis-allocation of the money we all contribute is.

So what can be done? Here you go:

1. Transparency.

It had been promised often and never delivered. If there was transparency in our budgets and the actual spending of our dollars, down to the nickel. Someone has to see it and approve it. If they can see it, US citizens (with the exception of classified defense spending) should be able to see it. The value of transparency is that we would benefit from the collective brain power of the American people who would be able to provide us in depth education and information. The power of the people at its best. Sure there would be tons of misinformation as people play the traditional partisan games, but I think that websites that take apolitical approaches to the issues will emerge that we could follow.
With complete transparency we could have our own online Super Committee to look for the best places to cut costs and improve efficiency. Without it, we are at the mercy of a “Super Committee” formed purely to make politicians happy.

How do I show my Patriotism?

Well, besides giving back to the people, traveling the world, swooping fly girls and representing America in the best way possible?

I get my Custom Suits now made in The USA.

We need to make a return to elegance if our country is going to get out of this mess.

Griftopia by Matt Taibbi Book Review

Griftopia by Matt Taibbi Book Review

Click Here for Griftopia: Bubble Machines, Vampire Squids, and the Long Con That Is Breaking America by Matt Taibbi

It’s no secret that I enjoy reading Matt Taibbi’s Rolling Stone articles so I copped his new book Griftopia and just finished reading it, which is subtitled: Bubble Machines, Vampire Squids, and the Long Con That Is Breaking America.

Taibbi’s basic view is that regular American’s are “fighting over the same 5-10 percent swatch of undecided voters, blues versus reds. Instead, the parties should be broken down into haves and have-nots – a couple of obnoxious bankers on the Upper East Side running for office against 280 million pissed-off credit card and mortgage customers.” And: “When the Republicans win elections, their voters think they’ve struck a blow against big government. And when a Democratic hero like Barack Obama wins, his supporters think they’ve won a great victory for tolerance and diversity. Even I thought that.” (Even I thought that also) And this has created a paradise for high-class thieves.

He continues: “There are really two Americas, one for the grifter class and one for everyboy else. In everybody-else land, the world of small businesses and wage-earning employees, the government is something to be avoided…In the grifter world, however, government is a lavish lapdog that the financial companies that will be the major players…use as a tool for making money.”

In the first chapter, he ginsu’s Rick Santelli, Sarah Palin, Michele Bachman and Larry Kudlow among others. He saves the greatest disses for The Tea Party (which he actually gives a balanced critique of) and explains how they are simply a pawn for the elites (“A loose definition of the Tea Party might be fifteen million pissed-ff white people sent chasing after Mexicans on Medicaid by the small handful of banks and investment companies who advertise on Fox and CNBC.”). The elites have confused the Tea Party members and Taibbi drops this gem: “The insurmountable hurdle for so-called populist movements is having the nerve to attack the rich instead of the poor. Even after the rich almost destroyed the entire golobal economy through their sheer unrestrained greed and stupidity, we can’t shake the peasant mentality that says we should go easy on them…” which is an underlying theme in The G Manifesto.

In the second chapter “The Biggest Asshole in the Universe”, Taibbi rips apart Alan Greenspan and Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged (which I have never read). He then proceeds to break down the Mortgage Scam, The Commodities Bubble, an amazing chapter on Sovereign Wealth funds and the selling off of America, the Health Care reform bait-and-switch and the American Bubble Machine.

Taibbi is a little shaky on his explanation of the commodities markets, but his conclusions are always dead on.

This is a pretty amazing and humorous book that explains what has been happening in America written by one of the best writers of our generation.

Read it if you want to know what time it is.
