Ricardo Mayorga VS Miguel Cotto Update and Prediction

Ricardo Mayorga emerged from a white SUV in downtown Ocala on Tuesday with a lit cigarette hanging from his lips.

He yawned, took a long drag, then ambled across a parking lot toward the front doorway of Danny Santiago’s local gym, Central Florida Boxing.

Just days away from a nationally televised world championship fight, Mayorga hardly looked the part of a polished pugilist.

But that changed quickly when he entered the ring to spar a few minutes later.

His demeanor changed, his brow darkened, and his focus honed in intently on Bobby Bryant, a 19-year-old Ocalan and the day’s sparring partner.

It wasn’t long before Mayorga — a heavy-handed brawler who isn’t big on footwork — methodically walked the game Bryant into a corner and dropped him to the canvas with a left hook.

I may missing this fight live, but I think it has the potential to being the most entertaining fight of the year. I am mildly surprised more people aren’t talking about it.

My logic tells me that Mayorga will start the fight fast and Cotto will be hanging on for life in the first three rounds while doing some damage of his own.

In the middle rounds Cotto’s technique and skill will start taking over and seriously touch up Mayorga.

In the late middle rounds, Mayorga will make one last push, and hurt Cotto, and possibly drop him.

By round 10 Cotto should be punishing a bloodied Mayorga on the ropes and the ref should wave it off in a potential for fight of the year honors.

(Keep in mind, this could all happen in a somewhat collapsed time frame.)

The passive boxing fan and boxing writer vastly underestimate Mayorga’s ability (they can only seem to remember him getting chopped up by Oscar De La Hoya. A fight where Mayorga was able to lay some heavy leather). And Cotto’s tendency to be courting disaster at every turn should make this fight worth whatever they are peddling for it.

Mayorga is a 6 to 1 underdog in this one.

However, I have been hearing some rumblings from my sources that he might not be a bad bet (for some reasons I don’t want to publicly mention). But you didn’t hear that from me.

Also, the same night, Sergio ”El Maravilla” Martinez will take on undefeated WBO light middleweight champion Sergiy ”Razor” Dzinziruk of the Ukraine at the Foxwoods Resort Casino, Connecticut. I don’t know much about Sergiy ”Razor” Dzinziruk, except that he has a win over Joel Julio, so I expect Sergio Martinez to win.

A new Anti-Smoking report was just released:

Cigarette smoke causes immediate damage to the lungs and to DNA, and President Barack Obama’s administration will make stop- smoking efforts a priority, federal health officials said on Thursday.

Smoking hurts not only the smokers, but people around them, and taxes, bans and treatment all must be used together to help get smoking rates down, U.S. Surgeon-General Dr. Regina Benjamin said in a report on smoking.

“The chemicals in tobacco smoke reach your lungs quickly every time you inhale causing damage immediately,” Benjamin said in a statement.

“Inhaling even the smallest amount of tobacco smoke can also damage your DNA, which can lead to cancer.”

Seems like more over-the-top scare tactics by our government.

A couple of questions:

Does this look like someone you should be taking “health” advice from?

I wonder how involved the makers of smoking cessation drugs ie Big Pharma were involved in that study?

Doesn’t it seem that smoking traitor Obama has aged a lot since he quit smoking?

Isn’t this former Surgeon General that told us not to smoke the same guy that was pitching us on Kentucky Fried Chicken?

Question everything the government tells you.

Let’s continue Cigarette Week on The G Manifesto:

A classic move to swoop girls with Cigarettes is The Double Cigarette Light Move. This move has been around forever. Sinatra used to bust this move.

So did my Father Michael John Mason VI in his International Playboy days.

It is best done when you have isolated the girl you want to swoop as a prelude to untamed passion and smoldering sexual tension.

Reader Coby recently asked: “Mr. Mason, has your smoking habit ever caused you to not swoop a girl?”

Interesting timing.

A couple of months ago, a girl I walked out of a club to her car would not kiss me because I was smoking on the walk there.

First time it has really ever happened.

And recently at a charity event I attended, I sensed a couple of girls lost interest when I sparked up a jack.

Of course, it is impossible to track on how many girls it has turned off before speaking with them.

All in all, a very insignificant number.

And truth be told, smoking acted as a great qualifier with these girls as they really weren’t all that dope.

These isolated incidents simply pale in comparison to the huge amounts of girls I have swooped because they came up to me to get a light. Or a smoke.

The benefits of smoking and the amount of girls that open you far outweigh any negatives.

But I can sense a trend of these anti-smoking girls happening more in the future. Especially the younger set.

Adolf Hitler (the godfather of Anti-smoking campaigns) referred to this:

“When an opponent declares, ‘I will not come over to your side,’ I calmly say, ‘Your child belongs to us already… What are you? You will pass on. Your descendants, however, now stand in the new camp. In a short time they will know nothing else but this new community.”

People simply do not smoke anymore in America. Especially in Southern California.

Time to move to South America or Europe.

America is no longer free.
